Becky Relic
Director - North America Government Relations, eBay, Inc.
Becky Relic currently serves as head of Federal Government Affairs for eBay Inc.'s North America Government Relations operation. eBay, PayPal, StubHub, GSI and x.commerce are all part of the eBay Inc. portfolio. Prior to this position she served in the same capacity for PayPal. Relic was formerly deputy assistant secretary for public liaison at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she was the Department's liaison to the business, advocacy and financial communities. While at Treasury, Relic received two honor awards for exemplary service.
With a legislative, political and public affairs career spanning more than two decades, Relic served a senior Member of Congress, lead government relations efforts at several business trade associations and managed the Washington office of McDonald's Corporation, where she directed federal legislative, regulatory and political activity.
In her current capacity with eBay Inc., Relic provides corporate leadership and advocacy on a wide range of legislative proposals and regulatory guidance including issues pertaining to payment provider innovation, financial services oversight, intellectual property enforcement, cyber security and tax compliance.
Relic holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in English Literature from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. She served on the University's Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1992 to 1998 and was awarded the Young Alumni of the Year Award in 2005. She is a member of Christ Church Georgetown where she serves on the church vestry and is secretary to the Executive Committee of the Parents Association of Beauvoir the National Cathedral Elementary School.
