Christopher Finan

Director for Cybersecurity Legislation, National Security Staff

Christopher Finan serves as the Director for Cybersecurity Legislation on the National Security Staff. In his last assignment, he served as a Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs in the Department of Defense. Prior to his return to government service, Mr. Finan directed knowledge management for the U.S. Army's Human Terrain System program, and founded a technology development and services company. Mr. Finan also led east coast program development efforts for Veterans Green Jobs, a non-profit organization training Veterans for careers in green industries. Prior to his non-profit and private sector work, Mr. Finan served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and intelligence officer, including a 2006 to 2007 tour in Iraq where he worked with the Iraqi government on infrastructure development and counterterrorism issues, and served as the intelligence briefer for the Multinational Force-Iraq Commanding General. After attending public schools in northeastern Pennsylvania, Mr. Finan studied Political Science and Arabic at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
