Colin Crowell is Head of Global Public Policy at Twitter. He is a recognized leader in Washington's high tech policy circles. With over two decades of high technology policy experience on Capitol Hill and at the Federal Communications Commission, Colin Crowell has the broad experience, deep policy expertise, and well-honed communications skills for helping clients positively impact policy issues at the cutting edge of technology.
Colin Crowell served U.S. Representative Edward J. Markey (D-MA) for over twenty years. Crowell was Chairman Markey's top telecommunications staffer during consideration of numerous landmark laws, including the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the requirement in the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act that the FCC develop a National Broadband Plan.
Crowell subsequently was Senior Counselor to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, assisting in the development of the National Broadband Plan, and serving as the Chairman's strategic advisor on a wide range of policy and legal matters, with particular responsibility over the legislative, communications, intergovernmental affairs, and public liaison functions of the agency.
