Steve DelBianco
Association for Competitive Technology
Steve DelBianco is an experienced leader in both information technology and public policy. He founded an IT consulting firm in 1984 and built it to over $20 million in revenues before merging with a public company in 1997. Steve then helped to start the Association for Competitive Technology, where he serves as Vice President for Public Policy. Steve also serves as Executive Director of NetChoice, a coalition of e-commerce businesses promoting convenience, choice and commerce on the Net.
Steve sets the policy agenda and is a media spokesman for both ACT and NetChoice. He's a leading opponent of barriers to e-commerce, and is seen as an expert on Internet governance, taxation, and consumerprotection.
Steve testified in four separate hearings for the 109th Congress, and has addressed multiple state legislatures on technology policy issues. He's a regular panelist at the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) and American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), which named Steve as "Private Sector Member of the Year".
Virginia governor Jim Gilmore appointed Steve as a Director of the state's Economic Development Partnership, where he served as Vice Chairman. And since 2001, Steve has been appointed to the Advisory Committee for Virginia's Joint Commission on Technology and Science.
Steve holds degrees in Engineering and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School. He lives in McLean, Virginia with his wife and three children, where he is active in community government and investing/advising for high-tech startup companies.
