Online service providers, ISPs, and other "intermediaries" play an essential role in the Internet ecosystem. These entities help drive the Internet economy, but some are questioning their roles and responsibilities. Whether to protect privacy or reduce defamation or unwanted conduct, should intermediaries have to police their users? How important are intermediary protections (like "Section 230") to innovation and competition on the Internet?
