David Medine -- Biography
David Medine is the Associate Director for Financial Practices, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission.
As the Associate Director, Mr. Medine is responsible for enforcing numerous federal credit statutes, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Fair Credit Reporting Act, as well as the Federal Trade Commission Act. He has testified frequently before Congress. He has also worked on a number of policy issues relating to consumer protection in cyberspace.
Mr. Medine previously taught law at Indiana University and the George Washington University National Law Center. Prior to that he was an associate with the law firm of Covington & Burling. He received his law degree from The University of Chicago Law School and his undergraduate degree from Hampshire College.
