AOL Time Warner: AOL Anywhere
As we head into the next phase of the Internet, convergence is starting to happen - from dial-up access on the home PC and mobile interactivity, to broadband and the advent of home networking with multiple devices connected to each other within the home. The AOL Anywhere strategy is designed to provide our customers with the convenience of being able to get their familiar AOL features - e-mail, instant messages, the Buddy List® feature, Address Book, Calendar, and more - wherever they want and need them. We will demonstrate some of the latest AOL Anywhere products and services, including the AOL Mobile Service for wireless phones, AOLbyPhone, and the AOL Mobile Communicator. Through these and other AOL Anywhere offerings, consumers can enjoy using the online features they want in more places, from more devices and in exciting new ways that are easy to use and deliver them more convenience than ever.

Business Software Alliance (BSA)
The Business Software Alliance is an international organization representing leading software and e-commerce developers in 65 countries around the world. Established in 1988, BSA has offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Our efforts include educating computer users about software copyrights; advocating public policy that fosters innovation and expands trade opportunities; and fighting software piracy. As a participant in the Internet Caucus Kickoff event, BSA will promote its efforts to create a safe and legal online world. Our demo will include a "canned" anti-piracy demonstration and informational brochures on Cyber Security as a policy issue.

ComCARE Alliance
The ComCARE Alliance (Communications for Coordinated Assistance and Response to Emergencies) is a national, non-profit coalition comprised of trauma doctors and emergency nurses, state and local 9-1-1 and public safety officials, public health officials, departments of transportation, and telecommunication, transportation and technology companies. Its mission is to improve emergency communications and response through cooperation and new technologies. The technologies advocated by ComCARE will move emergency response into the Internet age. These technologies will provide public safety officials with state of the art communications and information systems for responding to individual or mass emergencies. As a participant in the Internet Caucus Tech Fair, ComCARE will promote its vision of bringing 21st century technology to emergency communications.

Compressus
Compressus, a Washington, D.C. based provider of data optimization technology, will be demonstrating their ImageI/O product line. ImageI/O includes advanced compression, transmission, and security technology. The demonstration illustrates the capabilities of their technology to transmit large image sets over constrained bandwidth connections. Compressus' client/server architecture has already been applied to medical and satellite imaging and has significant implications for telemedicine, law enforcement, homeland security, and defense applications. The demonstration will be a presentation describing the ImageI/O product line and showing interactive examples of large images being transmitted at various transfer rates, including those used in typical wireless, dialup, and broadband devices.

CoStar Group
CoStar Group, www.costar.com, the leading provider of information services to the U.S. commercial real estate industry, offers products that provide its customers access to accurate information on virtually every building in every major market. Building specific information is enhanced by photographs, floorplans and 3-d images, and includes hard-to-get details such as comparable sales, buildings for sale, cap rates, income and expense data, lease expirations and loan terms. To collect this information each year, CoStar's 650-person research team interviews 1 million tenants, owners and brokers, drives 2 million miles for on-site building inspections and examines more than 60 million public records.

Digimarc Corporation
Digimarc is the market leader in digital watermarking, providing applications which help photographers protect their copyrights, media managers enhance the effectiveness of their promotions, and content owners protect against the unauthorized duplication of valuable documents. In 2000 Digimarc partnered with the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) and image filtering application vendors (Net Nanny and RuleSpace) by donating its digital watermarking technology to help identify and filter images containing adult related material in an effort to help make the Internet safer for children by complementing existing filtering solutions.

Digit Wireless
Digit Wireless has created the Fastap keypad, the most intuitive and powerful mobile phone interface in the world(it's even in the Guiness Book of World Records.) Users in the United States have not taken full advantage of the wireless Internet because the 50-year-old telephone keypad was not designed to enter text. Attendees will see how mobile phones using the Fastap keypad enables the quick and easy entry of numbers, letters and basic punctuation without triple tapping. Fastap technology utilizes a matrix of raised and lowered keys that provide the finger or thumb ample space to access any character with a single press.

Internet Education Foundation: Privacy Tool Box
The Privacy Toolbox is a Web based consumer education resource to help users take better control of their privacy. It is in beta form. The site contains educational information about privacy as well as video tutorials on how to change the privacy settings in your web browser or instant message client. The site also contains a directory of privacy-enhancing technologies.

K-12 E-Learning Systems, Inc.
K12-ELS will demonstrate the technology platforms and methods used in its Digitally-Assisted Teaching & Learning Delivery System for K-12 schools. Attendees may participate in the hands-on simulation by playing the roles of the teacher and the students. Using the lightweight wireless computer tablet, the teacher will assemble a daily lesson plan and quiz from digitized curriculum content. The content item is then wirelessly transmitted to the students' tablets at the proper time during the 5-minute simulated teaching session. After the session, the teacher wirelessly transmits a quiz to the student's tablet, which the students complete using their tablets. The quizzes are immediately scored electronically and wirelessly provided to the students and teacher. The attendees, playing the roles of the teacher or student, can experience the flexibility and mobility of this teaching and learning system within the classroom, school and home.

Listen.Com, Rhapsody
Rhapsody is a new service from Listen.com that makes it easier for consumers to legally listen to and experience music online. Rhapsody is the only online music service to bring together on-demand playback, free online radio, and free music discovery. By combining high-quality sound with groundbreaking design and streaming technologies, Rhapsody offers consumers a simple and engaging online music experience at an affordable price.

Microsoft Corporation Xbox
Microsoft Corporation will demonstrate its Xbox video game system, which delivers the most powerful game experiences ever. Xbox empowers game artists by giving them the technology to fulfill their creative visions as never before, creating games that blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Founded in 1975, Microsoft (Nasdaq "MSFT") is the worldwide leader in software, services and Internet technologies for personal and business computing. The company offers a wide range of products and services designed to empower people through great software - any time, any place and on any device.

Motorola
Motorola creates and enables numerous Internet technologies benefiting the public. For the 2002 Internet Caucus Event, Motorola's demonstration will address public safety, consumer/citizen awareness and access to government information. We will showcase new public safety operational capabilities, enabled by our Greenhouse Project. This system delivers wireless mobile Internet access at 460 kbps to Police, Fire and EMS users and has been used in Pinellas County, Florida since December 2000. Multiple Internet technologies are leveraged to provide simultaneous video, voice and Intranet / Internet access.

MusicNet
MusicNet is a digital distribution platform for streaming and downloading music. It combines RealNetworks' Internet media delivery technology with the music catalogs of major and independent record labels - which now include Warner Music Group, BMG Entertainment, EMI Recorded Music, and Zomba. As both a technology provider and a music clearinghouse, MusicNet will license its "private-label" platform to companies seeking to sell music subscription services under their own brands. MusicNet is a joint venture between RealNetworks, AOL Time Warner, Bertelsmann AG, EMI Recorded Music and Zomba.

Napster, Inc.
Napster, Inc. will be providing Members of Congress and their staffs with the opportunity to sample the beta of the its new, secure membership service. The new service provides consumers with the power of file-sharing in a form that respects the copyrights of artists and songwriters. It provides music lovers with an easy to use client and player, allows music lovers to communicate their interests directly with one another and access one another's music files in a licensed manner, and build communities around similar music interests. Napster, Inc. is an online music service company led by a management team with extensive music, technology, business, and policy experience.

Nokia
By adding mobility to the Internet, Nokia creates new opportunities for companies and further enriches the daily lives of people. At the 2002 Internet Caucus Event, Nokia will be demonstrating the power of convergence with its new Nokia 9290 Communicator, which allows for the mobility of e-mail, Internet and office applications. Also, the first step in the road to the third generation (3G) will be demonstrated with the new packet-data GPRS enabled Nokia 8390, as well as concepts that will bring new dimensions of mobility to all consumers.

NTT DoCoMo USA
NTT DoCoMo USA is the US subsidiary of NTT DoCoMo, one of the largest mobile communications providers in the world. NTT DoCoMo developed "i-mode," its mobile internet service with always-on, Java-enabled, full-color handsets. NTT DoCoMo has also launched the world's first, full-scale commercial "Third Generation (3G)" wireless service, providing applications such as video phone, video clipping, and high-speed internet access up to 384Kbs.

The CPB/WGBH National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM)
Internet and other digital media (i.e., DVDs) can be made fully accessible to people with disabilities. We will demo educational and entertainment streaming media that is closed captioned for deaf users and described for blind users. Print and online guidelines for making multimedia accessible, and free do-it-yourself captioning and description software for digitized media will also be available.

"National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)
CyberTipline - Funded by the U.S. Congress, the CyberTipline is an online reporting mechanism to report child sexual exploitation. NCMEC, in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Customs Service, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, began the CyberTipline in March of 1998. Since its inception, the CyberTipline, www.cybertipline.com, has received over 60,000 reports, many resulting in arrests. The CyberTipline, accessible online at cybertipline.com or by calling toll-free 800.843.5678, provides an easy way for the public to report child sexual exploitation. Information reported to the CyberTipline is evaluated by NCMEC analysts and forwarded to law enforcement for investigation and review."

Panasonic/Matsushita Electronics
The Tele Homecare System takes routine hospital care into the patient's home, cutting the cost of transportation and the wear and tear on patients who must return to the hospital for regular checkups and monitoring. In turn, the system also reduces the number of times a patient must be uprooted, an often distressing experience. Panasonic Tele Homecare System enables doctors to monitor patients in their homes. PowerUP: Bridging the Digital Divide, Inc.
PowerUP was launched in November 1999 with generous support from the Case Foundation, the Waitt Family Foundation, AOL Time Warner Foundation, Cisco Systems and the Hewlett Packard Company. PowerUP delivers an Internet and technology based program that supports the mission of America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth. There are currently over 500 PowerUP centers in Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, 4-H Clubs and other youth serving organizations across the country. At the Tech Fair, PowerUP will demonstrate how we use the power of the Internet to reach young people and the adults who mentor them. Guests will be able to view several of our portals, including PowerUP Online, our training portal and PUPNet, a site where the adults working in PowerUP centers come together to share ideas.

Pressplay
Launched in December 2001, pressplay is an equally held venture of Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group. The online music subscription service gives consumers on-demand access to a broad array of music that can be streamed, downloaded and burned onto a CD, while respecting and protecting artists' rights. Music fans that subscribe to pressplay will enjoy one of the world's largest online catalogs. Pressplay is marketed and promoted to consumers through its affiliates, which include Mp3.com, MSN, Roxio and Yahoo!. Pressplay is an online music service company led by an independent executive team with deep music, programming, technology and business experience with offices in Los Angeles and New York City.

Privacy Council: Privacy Scan
Privacy Scan can show things an organization or agency might not know are on their website. The program uses a combination of sophisticated technology and years of experience to reveal all data - including the use of cookies, text files, web beacons, and third-party links - that flow into and out of an organization's website. Our P3P policy generator and Privacy Scan benefit consumers by giving them peace of mind that their personal information is handled accordingly and that the company collecting the information values their privacy.

Sanctum, Inc.
Sanctum's Web application firewall solution, AppShield prevents the illegal manipulation of any electronic information accessible through a Web site, including e-booking and financial transactions, customer and frequent flyer club data, scheduling and shipping information. The Sanctum demonstration will show how easy it is for a hacker to access this critical information and tamper with the passenger manifests, crew listings, etc. and how Sanctum can prevent this sort of attack.

SSP Solutions
A Smart Card Issuance System that shows the creation of a personalized, cryptographically secure smart card token containing a photograph, contact information and a digital certificate on an embedded chip.

Telenor Satellite Services, Inc.
Telenor Satellite Services, Inc. (Formerly COMSAT Mobile Communications) is demonstrating the latest enabling communications technologies using mobile satellite communications over the Internet. The Inmarsat Global Area Network (GAN) uses laptop-sized terminals weighing about 10 lbs.and is the most portable global and domestic mobile satellite communicatins high-speed data (HSD) communications available today, GAN integrates the corporate IT network with a global, mobile communications network. Critical/time sensitive information can now be provided at both the bandwidth and speed that government and industry demand. GAN offers two powerful and highly flexible services - Mobile ISDN and Mobile Packet Data. Also on display is the Inmarsat-C system, ideally suited for short messaging needs at a low data rate and offering an inexpensive solution for remote communications.

TRUSTe
TRUSTe, the independent, non-profit privacy certification program teams up with ePrivacy Group to provide consumers with a new means of sifting through commercial email. Trusted Sender Program is an important technology-based, self-regulatory program to add trust and confidence in email. TRUSTe and ePrivacy Group will demonstrate how this new email program works and what it will look like when you receive email from a Trusted Sender.

VeriSign
The VeriSign SecureExpress SM Service allows companies to strengthen the security of their communications and increase the convenience, speed, and cost-effectiveness of delivering confidential, time-sensitive documents.The SecureExpress Service eliminates the risk associated with sending confidential information via the Internet by providing a highly secure, private channel that enables members to digitally sign and encrypt messages and their attachments. VoteHere

XcelleNet will demonstrate its Afaria mobile device management application, which manages the flow of information and software among hand-held devices and computers. The demo will involve a computer, laptop, cell phone, and a Palm device "talking" to each other, sharing files, information, and software. Afaria uses the Internet to enable mobile and "on the go" people to better use communication devices, and saves money and time for America's corporate world.

Yahoo
LAUNCHcast is an Internet radio service that truly exploits the advantages of the Internet by allowing consumers to rate the music they hear. This not only allows consumers to hear more music they like, but to discover new songs and artists that they would not otherwise hear. Artists and record labels also benefit from the availabiltiy of this new, highly effective marketing channel. LAUNCHcast represents the compelling opportunities for further expansion of the music media space made available by appropriately applying new technologies to existing business models.
