David Green, Vice President & Counsel
Motion Picture Association of America, Inc.

David E. Green joined the MPAA in the position of Vice President & Counsel, Technology and New Media, in May 2003. In this position, he focuses primarily on legal issues related to the Internet and other digital electronic distribution systems.

Mr. Green joined the MPAA from the U.S. Department of Justice where he worked for 16 years. He most recently served as the Principal Deputy Chief of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the Criminal Division, where he helped coordinate the national enforcement of the criminal laws protecting intellectual property. Prior to that position, Mr. Green prosecuted public corruption cases as Senior Litigation Counsel in the Criminal Division's Public Integrity Section. Mr. Green also worked for several years as an associate with the law firm of Arnold & Porter where he was involved in litigation and in legislative work, including intellectual property protection.

Mr. Green graduated from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Louis H. Pollak in Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Fred von Lohmann, Senior Intellectual Property Attorney
Electronic Frontier Foundation

Fred von Lohmann is a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, specializing in intellectual property issues. In that role, he has represented programmers, technology innovators, and individuals in litigation against every major record label, movie studio, and television network (as well as several cable TV networks and music publishers) in the United States. In additon to litigation, he is involved in EFF's efforts to educate policy-makers regarding the proper balance between intellectual property protection and the public interest in fair use, free expression, and innovation.

Fred has also served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Thelton Henderson, of the US District Court for Northern California, and Judge Betty B. Fletcher, of the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Stanford University.

Michael Petricone, Vice President
Consumer Electronics Association

Michael Petricone is the vice president of technology policy for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) where he manages the government and legal affairs department.

In his position, Michael is responsible for developing and implementing the public policy priorities of CEA. He represents the technology industry's position before Congress, the Executive Branch and administrative agencies on issues such as digital rights management, broadband, and privacy. Mr. Petricone is a frequent public speaker on issues impacting the consumer electronics industry.

Mr. Petricone received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and his undergraduate degree from Tufts University. He resides in Washington D.C.

CEA represents more than 1000 U.S. manufacturers of audio, video, accessories, mobile electronics, communication, information and multimedia products that are sold through consumer channels. CEA also sponsors and manages the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest annual trade event showcasing consumer electronics products.
