A common architectural approach for information delivery that supports user choice regardless of ability or disability: AFB and DevIS will demonstrate interfacing to current Medicare benefits and information using a telephone, or using VOIP, or a web browser. And, we will show how other Federal sites, such as the President's page for America's citizens with disabilities, may soon benefit.

Lets users take what they can use and leave the rest behind. Provides two, traditionally separate information delivery modalities for the price of one implemented with open source technology and utilizes open, non proprietary publication standards.

Audible Magic Corporation
With the current debate about copyright infringement over peer-to-peer file sharing, Audible Magic is able to utilize its technology to filter copyrighted content transferred over these networks. Demonstration of content filtering both at the user level, such as would be integrated into software such as Kazaa; and at the network level, such as could be installed at an ISP. The demo will show the ability to selectively block copyrighted files. The first demonstration will show a Gnutella P2P software application block copyrighted files in real time. The second demonstration will log into a live network and show how rules can be set up to block P2P traffic.

Bearing Point
The Bearing Point Secure Access and Identity Management Team will participate in the technology demonstration by illustrating the security smart cards provide when coupled with public key and biometric technologies. We will enroll subjects by capturing demographics, biometric (fingerprint), and photo, and issue them smart cards with this information encoded on the integrated circuit chip. The demonstration illustrates secure enrollment and subsequent logon to a Win2K network using a voice, iris, face, and/or fingerprint biometric. The fingerprint is stored on the smart card. These applications are based on commercial-off-the-shelf products and follow industry and Government standards.

Callipso On Demand Conference Calling
This highly visual and interactive demo will show new innovative applications of VoIP (voice over IP) technology. The product is a desktop application that "bridges" the Internet and the public telephone network to provide on-demand conference calls. Small to medium sized businesses and SOHOs use the product to create conference calls to any phone or cell phone user without reservations or operators. The demo will feature a laptop with monitor to show how users can "create" a conference call merely by selecting names and phone numbers of participants. The software sends a message to a VoIP server that then dials out to cell phones in the audience. The user can then "moderate" the call via the desktop. The application allows the moderator to mute, drop and dial out to additional participants as the call is conducted. After the call is completed, an immediate and complete history of the call is available, showing the date, time the length of the call and who participated.

  • Nimbus Site Accesibility Engine- Why aren't all Web sites taking 508 seriously?
The Nimbus Site Accessibility Engine (NSAE), a part of the Nimbus Content Management System, is a powerful accessibility tool that dramatically reduces the costs involved in developing ADA-friendly Web sites. At the heart of the NSAE is a text processing engine that dynamically modifies Web content according to a series of business rules. These business rules ensure that Web pages, no matter how graphically stylized, are rendered in a text-only format. Furthermore, there's no duplication of efforts to have an ADA-compliant Web site that can also offer latest-technology functionality. Through hands-on examples using two of the most popular screen-reading software solutions, JAWS and IBM screen reader, we will show ICAC attendees how the right technology can make producing screen-reader friendly content easy. We will also show that it is possible to develop an ADA-friendly Web site for only 10-20% more (including training) than a site that is developed without regard to ADA directives.
