10th Annual Kickoff Reception & Technology Exhibition
January 31, 2007, 5-7 pm
Overview | Demonstrators | Conference
On Wednesday, January 31 in the Hart Senate Building, Room 902, the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee (ICAC) hosted the 10th Annual Kickoff Reception and Technology Exhibition to commence its 2007 program of educational events. Attendees saw over 25 hands-on demonstrations from major companies and innovators. They test-drove the latest technology, and learned more about how the Internet is changing our lives.
This event served as a great opportunity for policymakers, staffers, industry executives and public interest advocates to come together, in an atmosphere of technology, to network with their peers. Hosted in conjunction with the Internet Caucus, the goal of this annual tech fair is to bring cutting-edge technology demonstrations to Capitol Hill that illustrate the power and flexibility of the Internet as medium for communications, commerce, and democracy.
The Internet Caucus Kickoff Reception and Technology Exhibition was held on Capitol Hill, immediately following the 3rd Annual Internet Caucus State of the Net Conference, which was held at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill (Conference Web page).
This year over 600 people attended the Kickoff, including Members of Congress, congressional staff, press, and representatives from the government agencies and private sector organizations. Download the Kickoff invitation flyer. A list of participating demonstrators is now available.
