Patent disputes seem to make headlines with increasing regularity -- remarkable given the relatively obscure nature of patent law. Yet the increased attention on patents highlights how important patents are to our daily lives and how we use our Internet communication tools. This summer Congress is weighing heavily significant reforms to patent law and processes that will certainly affect the information technology industry. The Internet Caucus Advisory Committee hosted an interesting discussion between patent experts who debated the pros and cons of the various patent reform bills that could be put to a floor vote.
