Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee Speaker Series Features RSA Security President and CEO, Art Coviello
Coviello Address Will Cover the Current State of Security on the Internet
WHAT: Art Coviello, president and chief executive officer of RSA Security, will address Members and staff of the Internet Caucus, press and other key government officials during an Internet Caucus Advisory Committee Speaker Series event. Mr. Coviello will speak to attendees about the current state of security on the Internet and what industry leaders are doing to combat cyber criminals and enhance the confidence of Internet users. As president and CEO of RSA Security, Mr. Coviello is responsible for the company's vision and strategy, and oversees day-to-day operations. Mr. Coviello's expertise and influence have propelled RSA Security to become a leading innovator in the cyber security industry. Business 2.0 Magazine named RSA Security in the top 10 if its annual survey of the top 100 fastest growing technology companies in 2003. The Speakers Series has previously featured other Internet leaders such as Vint Cerf, Tim Berners-Lee, Michael Eisner, Bill Gates, Meg Whitman, and Peter Chernin. The Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee, in conjunction with the Internet Caucus and its Co-Chairs, Senators Burns and Leahy, and Congressmen Goodlatte and Boucher, will host this event.
WHO: The Speakers Series Luncheon will begin with introductory remarks by Dan Caprio, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy and Chief Privacy Officer, U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Coviello will deliver his comments followed by a question and answer session. Since October is National Cyber Security Month, Mr. Coviello's perspectives on consumer identity protection issues and the necessary steps to enable further Internet innovation are quite timely. He will briefly discuss emerging policy issues related to technologies such as RFID, a new technology that has been dubbed the extended Internet.
Mr. Coviello joined RSA Security in 1995, after serving as Chief Operating Officer for CrossComm Corporation, and has been instrumental in establishing RSA Security as a leader in e-security. Under his direction and leadership, the company has increased its revenue from $25 million in 1995 to more than $255 million in 2003.
